Most study time consists of blocks for the Instructor’s Demo and Students’ work. Each block is broken to steps so students can follow the instructor’s work. There are 10 min breaks between blocks for questions and coffee, restroom use.

Day 1

Morning ( 9:30 am – 12:30 pm ) 

09:30 - 09:50 - Introduction. Agenda. Check tools and supplies. Check canvas for master painting.

10:00 - Arriving at Litchfield Green

10:10 - 11:00 - Finding painting motive. Demo of Sketching (2-3 sketches) as Step 1 of the process. Composition.

11:10 - 11:40 - Students work on Sketching.

11:40 - 11:50 - Break. Ordering food for lunch.

11:50 - 12:30 - Reference image. Demo: Color study en plein air (Step 2)

Lunch (12:30 – 1:30 ) in-studio or outdoors, the entire group. Discussion and Q&A. Using of Adobe Lightroom in smartphones for reference images.

Afternoon (1:30 – 4:30pm)

1:30 - 2:30 - Students complete Color study, Step 2.

2:40 – 3:00 - Analysis and planning. Demo: Step 3 - Final composition.

3:00 – 3:50 - Students work on Step 3 – Final Composition.

4:00 – 4:30 - Student start along with Zufar on Step 4 – Master Painting.

LCC studio will be open until 5:30 pm for you to do some touch-us in studio and review your day work. Zufar will be available in the studio to answer your questions.

Day 2

Morning ( 9:30 am – 12:30 pm ) 

09:30 - 09:50 Agenda for the day. Check tools and supplies.

10:00 - Arriving at Litchfield Green and unpacking. Taking Reference images.

10:10 - 10:50 - Demo: Block-in stage start to finish. Smart use of the medium.

11:00 - 11:40 - Students work on the block-in painting stage.

11:40 - 11:50 - Break. Ordering food for lunch.

11:50 - 12:30 - Demo: Refining lines, structure, composition.

Lunch (12:30 – 1:30 ) in-studio or outdoors, the entire group. Discussion and Q&A of Steps 1-4, planning further work.

Afternoon (1:30 – 4:30pm)

1:30 - 2:00 - Students refine composition and painting structure.

2:10 - 2:50 - Demo: details and texture. 

3:00 - 3:40 - Students work on details and texture.

3:50 - 4:30 - Analysis and planning steps on finishing the Master painting. Demo: Finishing Master painting.

4: 30 - Return to the studio.

LCC studio will be open until 5:30 pm for you to finish your work, do some touch-us, and review the results of the workshop. Zufar will be available in the studio to answer your questions.
